Session 2 swimming lessons start Tuesday, August 3rd. The class list was emailed on Wednesday. Please visit the UB1 website for swimming<\/a> guidelines and rules for lessons. If you have questions about swimming lessons, please contact the pool staff at ub1guards@gmail.com<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Interested in staying for a longer free swim?<\/strong> Although we only allow families to reserve one time slot per day, you are welcome to let the guards know at the end of your swim that you would like to walk-in for the next time slot. We ask that you get out of the pool for the 10 minute cleaning period but you may wait on the pool deck (rather than going back up to the gate to sign in again). The guards will confirm with you at the beginning of the next time slot if there is room for you to stay or not. If so, you are welcome to get back in the pool for the next hour. Given our recent increase in free swim capacity, there is a good chance that you will be able to stay for two consecutive timeslots!<\/p>\n\n\n\n To allow for more walk-in spots, as members are not always showing up for their booked advance free swim slots, the number of advance swim sign-up spots on the sign up form for free swim has been reduced from 5 spots of 5 people to 3 spots for 5 people each hour of free swim. It is very rare that the walk-in spots are full, so please come on out to the pool for free swim! <\/p>\n\n\n\n Please see the Week Five Activities section below for the pool activities.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Session 3 of Junior Tennis Lessons also start on Tuesday, August 3rd. The class lists were emailed out to those who signed up. If you have any questions about tennis lessons, please contact Sue or Art Winter at upperbeechwood1tennis@gmail.com<\/a> or Grady at gradysimpson4@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We continue to look for volunteers to help with weeding the tennis courts. With all the rain, it is difficult to keep on top of them. If you have some spare time while you are at the UB1 facility, please consider pulling a full weeds! <\/p>\n\n\n\n Yoga Night – Wednesday, August 4th – 7:00pm<\/strong> Sustainable Gardening Workshop – Thursday, August 5th- 7:00pm<\/strong> There are other great social events planned for August – including a return of the Ice Cream Truck on August 30th! Please check the UB1 website event calendar<\/a> for other upcoming events and mark Sustainable Gardening Workshop with Catherine Jones, Certified Reality Project Leader, August 5th This week is Around the World Week! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Tween Night<\/strong> (open to ages 10-12) will take place on Tuesday, August 3 at 7pm. Please sign up at the pool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Movie Night <\/strong>will be held on Wednesday, August 4th at 8:30pm. Come down to the pool for a fun night under the stars!<\/p>\n\n\n\n This week’s Star Mission is Around the World Bingo<\/strong> – pick up your Bingo card at the pool next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Craft <\/strong>this week is making popsicle stick animal puppets from Around the World (siblings will do this in lessons or you can pick up supplies at the pool to complete at home).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Have a great long weekend! <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

Join us on the basketball court for an hour yoga lesson on August 4th. The cost is a $5 drop-in fee payable to the instructor. Please bring your mat, water bottle and bug spray if it is buggy. Please see the UB1 calendar to register<\/a> for August 4th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
