Dear UB1 members,

Please see below for information on session two swimming and tennis lesson sign up and the fun activities planned for this week at UB1.

Session 2 sign up for swimming and tennis lessons is in-person on the basketball court on Thursday July 14th at 5pm<\/strong>. Be sure to check your child\u2019s Swimgen report card to see what level to sign them up for!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note that questions regarding lessons for swimming should be directed to our Pool Manager, Lia, at ub1guards@gmail.com<\/a> and questions about tennis lessons should be directed to our volunteer Tennis Director, Andrea, at upperbeechwood1tennis@gmail.com<\/a>.

Let’s Get Social!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yoga Night – July 13th<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

UB1 will offering yoga nights each Wednesday this summer. Join us on the basketball court for an hour yoga lesson. The cost is a $5 drop-in fee payable to the instructor. Please bring your mat, water bottle and bug spray if it is buggy. Please see the UB1 calendar on the website to register.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark your calendar for the Adult Party on Thursday, July 21st.  More information on this fantastic annual event will be provided in the next newsletter. Keep checking the UB1 website event calendar<\/a> for other upcoming events!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Week Two Activities<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Swim Across Canada and Maple Missions Start:<\/strong>
This week will be the start of maple missions! Complete them for a stamp on your maple mission\/swim around Canada sheet each week for a prize at the end of the summer.

This week\u2019s activity will be a Zumba session on the basketball courts on Tuesday, at 12:30<\/strong>. Bring a water bottle!

The first independent mission will be a nature scavenger hunt. You will be able to pick up a paper from the guard office of all the items you can either collect or take pictures of. Show a guard a collection of all the finds for a stamp. 

For the second mission, we want you to decorate the sidewalk Halloween themed! Draw anything related to Halloween on a section of the sidewalk outside of the pool. Ask a guard in the guard office for chalk and then go wild with your Halloween decorations! Show a guard once you\u2019re finished for a stamp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hallowe’en night:<\/strong>
Join us on Tuesday, July 12th at 5:30pm<\/strong> for UB1’s annual Halloween night! Pizza will be sold at the start of the event for $1 followed by Halloween-themed games and finally trick-or-treating at houses around the neighbourhood who have volunteered to participate. We can’t wait to see you all dressed up in your costumes\u2026 who doesn\u2019t love Halloween in July?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fun in the Sun:<\/strong>
Come to the pool Wednesday, July 13th at 1pm<\/strong> for some crafts and socializing! This week we are making animals out of pipe cleaners and beads. Inspiration: Butterflies, snakes & fish. Feel free to bring in books, toys or more you want to share with everyone or to play with. Hope to see you there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday Tween Night: <\/strong>
Check at the pool for more information to sign up for this Amazing Race Themed Tween Night! It starts at 7pm! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
