The pool staff would like to remind members to please sign in any guests that come to the pool. Please see the UB1 website for the guest policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Session Three Swim lesson Sign Up- July 28th<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n For session three, we are going to try an\u00a0online sign up format<\/strong>\u00a0for swimming lessons. Please read your child’s report card on Swimgen to ensure you are signing them up for the right level. There will be no in-person or phone sign up. Please use the link sent to you in the weekly newsletter on Saturday, July 23. The sign up form will open on\u00a0Thursday July 28th at\u00a012pm. Swimming lesson class lists will be released on Saturday, July 30 through the form sent to you in the weekly newsletter on Saturday, July 23. Please email Lia (ub1guards@gmail.com<\/a>) if you need assistance 😀. If you need your child’s Swimgen ID please email Lia and Ben at\u00a0ub1guards@gmail.com<\/a>, preferably\u00a0by Wednesday night with the subject line: Swimgen ID.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n After a 2 year hiatus, the senior swim meet is finally back! UB1 is hosting this year\u2019s senior swim meet for swimmers aged 8 and up Thursday, July 28, with warm-ups starting at 3:30 pm. Swimmers will be competing against members from other pools in backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle. There will also be pool spirit competitions so bring a positive attitude and try to wear as much blue as possible so we can show team spirit! We will be selling pizza, chips, drinks, and freezies throughout the event for $1 each with all proceeds going to Nutrition for Learning. The sign up list is posted on the activities board or you may sign up at the guard office. Please sign up by this Sunday.<\/strong> We hope to see everyone ready to compete and cheer on your UB1 friends! The junior tennis lesson schedule was set at the beginning of the summer. If you did not sign up your child for junior tennis lessons, and would like to, please contact our volunteer Tennis Director, Andrea, at upperbeechwood1tennis@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n UB1 will offering yoga nights each Wednesday this summer. Join us on the basketball court for an hour yoga lesson. The cost is a $5 drop-in fee payable to the instructor. Please bring your mat, water bottle and bug spray if it is buggy. Please see the UB1 calendar on the website to register.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Keep checking the UB1 website event calendar<\/a> for other upcoming events!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Maple Missions continue this week!! Ask the guards in the office about these! They can tell you the missions and can give out sheets. More sheets are now available! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Junior Swim meet – July 26th<\/strong>
For those aged 4-7 looking for some fun competition, Upper Beechwood 2 is hosting a Junior Swim Meet on Tuesday, July 26 from 2:40-5:30. We ask those competing to come to UB1 at 2:20 as we will be walking over to Upper Beechwood 2 as a group. Swimmers will be competing against members from other Beechwood pools in the front crawl and back crawl. There is no swim level requirement as a guard will be in the water assisting the swimmers and\/or they will have a lifejacket or noodle, so all swimmers within the age limit are welcomed. There will also be pool spirit competitions so bring a positive attitude and try to wear as much orange as possible so we can show team spirit! The sign up list is posted on the activities board or you may sign up at the guard office. Please sign up by this Sunday.<\/strong> We hope to see everyone ready to compete and cheer on your UB1 friends!

Teen Night – July 26th<\/strong>
On Tuesday the 26th 7-9pm UB1 is hosting a teen night. Join us for some Survivor-themed fun, games, challenges, and prizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Craft Corner<\/strong>
Our craft of the week will be tie dye shirts on Monday July 25th at 1 pm<\/strong>. These will be used for the team spirit uniforms at our swim meets this week! You can also participate if you aren\u2019t attending the swim meets. Please bring your own white clothes to tie dye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
