{"id":712,"date":"2020-10-21T16:29:37","date_gmt":"2020-10-21T21:29:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/upperbeechwood.com\/?p=712"},"modified":"2020-10-21T16:29:39","modified_gmt":"2020-10-21T21:29:39","slug":"halloween-parade-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/upperbeechwood.com\/?p=712","title":{"rendered":"Hallowe&#8217;en parade update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Inviting all UB1 kids&nbsp;to dress up and join the&nbsp;Hallowe&#8217;en (COVID-19 friendly) parade through the&nbsp;neighbourhood&nbsp;on Saturday, October 31st!<\/strong><br><br>A big thank you to UB1 members for the donation of Hallowe&#8217;en treats for the parade goodie bags&nbsp;so far (please see the photo below of all&nbsp;the treats!). The word on the street is that many UB1 members&nbsp;have contributed, especially those who don&#8217;t have little&nbsp;trick-or-treaters at home.&nbsp;<br><br>Due to the wonderful response and high interest in this socially-distanced event,&nbsp;the social committee will be accepting prepackaged candy on the porch of 344 Wyecroft&nbsp;until tomorrow, October 22nd. 26 families&nbsp;have already signed up to participate in the parade and more are welcome.<br><br><strong>Please complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSeMdH9mf-1-ZBBBriC_kSqImJFTMwzVZZj58iQzMlfs-li7oA\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sign-up form<\/a>&nbsp;by end of day tomorrow so that the goodie bags can be made up in advance.<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reminders:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The parade will take place from <strong>6:00pm to 7:00pm<\/strong> on Saturday, October 31st. Please see a map of the parade route below.<\/li><li>Special goodie bags of candy&nbsp;will be made up&nbsp;for each child who signs up in advance. The goodie bag&nbsp;will be waiting for them&nbsp;as they pass the UB1 pool. If your child has allergies, please contact Amy at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:amyinwaterloo@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">amyinwaterloo@gmail.com<\/a>&nbsp;so the necessary adjustments can be made to their goodie bag.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Kids must be signed up&nbsp;to receive a goodie bag.<\/li><li>Family members are welcome&nbsp;to join the parade.<\/li><li>In keeping with the Regional and Provincial guidelines, we ask that you <strong>respect social distancing during the parade and wear a mask<\/strong> (not just a Halloween mask) to make this a fun, safe event.<\/li><li>If the weather does not cooperate, check your email and\/or the UB1 website to see if the parade has been changed to a car parade. Then hop in your car and drive the route! Honk your horn, play spooky music and have fun! Your candy bag will be waiting for you at the pool.<\/li><li>UB1 neighbours are welcome to dress up and come to the parade route to watch the parade or even make a sign for tricks as the kids pass by.<\/li><li>If you live on the parade route, we&#8217;d love to see your best Halloween decorations and hear your spooky music.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Please note, trick-or-treaters may still come out in addition to the parade. So, as usual, if you aren&#8217;t interested in handing out candy to trick-or-treaters, please keep all front and outdoor lights off so trick-or-treaters will know not to come to your house.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/6011936c675881020b4444996\/images\/d5513583-ec51-427e-b679-c7cf34b611a8.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the event that the current COVID situation changes, we may have to make changes to this event.
