Pool News

Session 1 report cards are now available on SwimGen using the link given out to swimmers on their last day of lessons.

As of Saturday, August 7th, UB1 members will be permitted to bring a maximum of 2 guests per family during free swim. Please indicate at the COVID screening station that you have guests accompanying your family and the lifeguards will sign them in. Similar to members, guests are also required to complete the UB1 COVID screening form prior to arriving for their swim time. A reminder that any guests attending UB1 must be accompanied by the UB1 member who signed them in for the entire duration of their stay at UB1.

Beginning Tuesday, August 10th the sanitization time between free swim time slots will be shortened from 10 minutes to 5 minutes.

Social Events

Yoga Night – Wednesday, August 11th – 7:00pm
Join us on the basketball court for an hour yoga lesson on August 11th. The cost is a $5 drop-in fee payable to the instructor. Please bring your mat, water bottle and bug spray if it is buggy. Please see the UB1 calendar to register for August 11th.

Adult Party – Thursday, August 19th – 7:30pm
Thanks to the Social Committee, the annual adult party is on again this year. Please save the date. More details to follow! 

Ice Cream Truck – Monday, August 30th – 6:00pm
Please mark you calendars for the return of the Ice Cream Truck. A map of the route and further details will be provided closer to the event.

Week Six Activities

This week is Under the Sea Week!  

Synchro Camp will be held at 1:00pm onAugust 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th. Sign up is at the pool and is open to anyone who has passed the swim test. Come out and learn some great new underwater moves!

Triathlon is this Tuesday, August 10th from 2:00-4:00pm. Sign up is at the pool and includes further details about race requirements for each age group. The pool will not be open for free swim from 2:00-4:00pm to accommodate triathlon. 

Fun in the Sun is Wednesday, August 11th from 12:00-1:00pm. Come out for some fun crafts, stories, and activities with the guards!

This week’s Star Mission is to show the guards how your favourite sea animal swims. The craft this week will be making paper plate sea animals. Siblings will do this craft during lessons or supplies are available to pick up at the pool to do the craft at home.
