Dear UB1 members,
The pool is opening this Saturday (tomorrow) from noon to 8pm! The pool will be open every weekend and on Monday, Wednesday and Friday after school at 4pm for the month of June, pending good weather, until it is open every day as of June 24. There is no sign up form required this year – just come out and enjoy the pool.
Please note that there is some upgrade work planned for the concrete deck around the pool which may impact one or two of the week day free swims in the next two weeks. I will send a note if the work requires cancellation of any of the free swim times.
The official pool opening party is scheduled for Friday, June 17th from 5pm to 8pm, so please mark your calendars. This is a good time to meet all the guards, catch up with neighbours, and to participate in some fun activities the guards are planning. Pizza, pop and chips will be available to purchase at this event.
The UB1 calendar has been updated with the free swim times and other fun events like Carnival throughout the summer so please check out the UB1 website.
Swimming and tennis lessons will start on July 4th. More information about signing up for lessons will be sent later in June.
Yoga is back!
Yoga classes with Amanda are starting up again on Wednesdays from 7pm to 8pm starting on June 8th through to August 31th. Yoga will take place on the basketball court. There is a $5 drop in fee payable to the instructor. Please bring your own mat, water bottle and bug spray if it is buggy!

Still Urgently Seeking UB1 Facility Director:
The UB1 Facility Director position remains vacant. Any covenant member who is interested in joining the Board in the role of Facility Director to oversee the maintenance functions related to the smooth operation of the pool (performed by 3rd party contractors) or any associate member who would like to help out, please contact Monica at upperbeechwood1president@gmail.com.
