Pool News
Session Four Swim Lessons
The class assignments for session four will be able to be viewed in a Google Doc sent in the email on August 12th on Saturday morning at 10 am or by asking the guards in the office at the pool. If you sign up after the class list is released, please email Lia at ub1guards@gmail.com.
Bronze Medallion classes
Spots have opened up in Bronze Medallion swim classes (mornings the week of August 29th-September 2nd). Email Lia at ub1guards@gmail.com if you, or someone you know (they do not have to be a UB1 member), is interested.
Tennis News
The lesson schedule for the next two weeks of tennis will be emailed and posted at the pool and is available on the UB1 website. Note that tennis lessons run from 9 am to 12 noon over the next two weeks to try and avoid conflicts with swim lessons. However, if there are any conflicts please email our Tennis Director, Andrea, at upperbeechwood1tennis@gmail.com.
Thank you to everyone who has participated in the tennis lessons to date. Special thanks to our tennis team Daniela, Tristan, and Ivan! We hope they have instilled a love of the game in your children.
Note that we will not be running any tennis programming during the week before school (August 29th to Sep 2nd), but if you are interested in any private lessons please email Andrea or just speak to Daniela directly at the courts.
Let’s Get Social!
Yoga Night – August 17th
UB1 will offering yoga nights each Wednesday this summer. Join us on the basketball court for an hour yoga lesson. The cost is a $5 drop-in fee payable to the instructor. Please bring your mat, water bottle and bug spray if it is buggy. Please see the UB1 calendar on the website to register.
Adult Party
The date and more details will be confirmed shortly.
Ice Cream Truck – Thursday, September 1st
Please mark your calendars for the Annual ice cream truck event. It is a great way to get out and see your neighbours while enjoying a frozen treat! More details to come.

Week Seven Activities
Keep working on your maple missions! We are excited to see everyone participating!
Dance Camp
Come on down to dance camp from Monday to Thursday (1pm-2pm) and bust a move with Aaron and Justyna! There will be some awesome songs like Hot Wings from Rio and Happy by Pharrell Williams. Looking forward to seeing you there!! You can also perform as a group at talent night if you would like!
Talent Night – Thursday, August 18th
Talent night at UB1 is this Thursday at 6:00pm-7:00pm! All talents and ages are welcome to participate. You can perform in a group or by yourself, simply sign up at the UB1 events board. Hope to see everyone there ready to watch all the incredible UB1 performances! Come learn a fun dance from 1-2pm Monday to Thursday this week and show it off at the talent show!
