Happy Hallowe’en everyone!
This is a reminder that the Hallowe’en parade starts tonight at 6:00pm. There are approximately 100 kids participating in the parade tonight. Families can jump on the parade at any time between 6:00pm and 7:00pm. Please follow the arrows indicated on the map below and indicated on the sidewalk as each side of the street will be moving in a different direction to ensure physical distancing.
The social committee has made up goodie bags for each child who preregistered. Please bring a shopping bag as the goodie bags are made of paper and they may rip!
The weather forecast shows a clear but chilly night (-1C with the wind chill) so please dress accordingly, including wearing a proper face mask. Also, please keep an eye out for the blue moon tonight – a rare blue moon on Hallowee’en, the first since 1944.
Reminders:
- Special goodie bags of candy have been made up for each child who signed up in advance. The goodie bag will be waiting for them as they pass the UB1 pool. Kids must be signed up to receive a goodie bag.
- Family members are welcome to join the parade.
- In keeping with the Regional and Provincial guidelines, we ask that you respect social distancing during the parade and wear a mask (not just a Halloween mask) to make this a fun, safe event.
- UB1 neighbours are welcome to dress up and come to the parade route to watch the parade or even make a sign for tricks as the kids pass by. If you live on the parade route, we’d love to see your best Halloween decorations (there are some great ones already out on Clair Creek) and hear your spooky music.
- Please note, trick-or-treaters may still come out in addition to the parade. So, as usual, if you aren’t interested in handing out candy to trick-or-treaters, please keep all front and outdoor lights off so trick-or-treaters will know not to come to your house.
- If you are driving in the neighbourhood tonight, please watch carefully for parade participants and trick or treaters.
Please contact Amy Walbridge with any questions regarding the Halloween Parade. We wish you a fun and safe Halloween and look forward to seeing all the kids dressed in their Hallowe’en costumes!
